Planting & Care
1. Planting: The Coralburst Crabapple can thrive in any soil, but prefers moderately fertile, well-draining soil. Find a spot in your yard in full sun.
Once you've selected your spot, dig a hole that's large enough to accommodate the root ball, place your tree and fill with soil. Water the surrounding area to settle the roots.
2. Watering: The Coralburst Crabapple is drought-tolerant once established, and only needs watering during extended dry periods after the first season. Check the soil 3 inches deep, and water when dry.
3. Fertilizing: Add a 5-5-5 fertilizer in early spring each year.
4. Pruning: The Coralburst Crabapple has a naturally attractive shape without a lot of pruning. Prune lightly in late winter to remove damaged branches or unwanted growth.

coralburst crabapple
ordered the coralburst crabapple tree last year and planted late summer. this spring it bloomed very nicely and has since started to really thrive. i am very happy with the product, instructions and how well packaged and quickly it came.
Excited about this one!
I dropped the ball and left for a 3-day out-of-state vacation THE VERY DAY my tree was to be delivered. We've been dealing with unusually early seasonal heat coupled with a drought, so I figured with shipping time coupled with an additional 4 days with me being gone, to returning and actually getting the tree in the ground, it was for sure going to be a goner. This one's a fighter! I purchased the 5'-6' Coralburst and the tree looks amazing, as far as structure is concerned. Leaves were mostly a crispy yellow though, which was extremely concerning but expected considering the circumstances. Fruit was and still is present, but immediately after planting, all of the yellow leaves completely fell off. Healthy green leaves remain at the ends of the branches, which is a good sign and while I'm bummed about it being bare and unsightly, I'd rather it direct more energy into rooting than leaving out. I planted in a hole twice the diameter of the root ball, mixed in 1/2 compost to fill dirt ratio, added BioTone root stimulator, built up a water ring, sprinkled 10-10-10 fertilizer on top, capped the hole with a water permeable rubber tree ring, and added 2" of wood mulch. Not much else I can do, aside from regular watering, but wait and see if it's going to rebound and flourish, but green leaves at the end of branches and mini fruits are holding on, so I'm hopeful and confident it'll pull through! As always, thanks FGT!
Crabapple
My crabapple arrived on time as promised. It is a sturdy little thing! Got it planted per instructions. It looks happy. Tiny birds enjoy perching on the young and slender branches.
Sturdy trees
I have purchased 2 of these now and am well pleased. They are nice sturdy trees. I thought the first one was a nice sturdy, well branched tree but the second one I received was even better. Shipping was quick and it was well packed.
Very healthy
My tree arrived very healthy and a great size. I am very happy with my purchase.
