Amazing Purple Blooms on a Low Maintenance Crape Myrtle
- The darkest purple on a crape myrtle!
- Low maintenance
- Highly drought tolerant
The royal purple colors of the Twilight Crape Myrtle have been difficult to find until now!
With large, lightly fragrant flower clusters that bloom from early June until frost, it can be grown as a broad shrub or as a tree.
This is one of the few crape myrtles that bloom deep purple flowers for 70 days!
Twilight Purple Crape Myrtles grow up to 20-25 feet tall, making it a popular choice for lining driveways, roadways, fences, or in groupings, and also, as a stunning stand-alone ornamental for your yard.
The leaves on the Twilight unfold in late Spring with a display of bronze color that becomes a deep green during the Summer months. These will change to yellows, oranges, or burgundy in the fall.
For even more color, the bark changes from the smooth mottled gray that gradually peels off in early Summer to reveal a light pink bark that darkens to reddish brown.
The rich purple flowers are an incredible contrast to the subtle colors of the bark.
This variety of Lagerstroemia fauriei have been bred for hardiness. Once established, they are extremely drought tolerant and have a vigorous growth rate.
Twilight crape myrtles do best in full sun and love acidic soil.
These crape myrtles are easy to grow and a delightful addition to any yard. Besides making a wonderful barrier, they are resistant to deer and rabbits, and do well in most growing conditions.

Great Price & Healthy Tree
How excited I was when my Crape Myrtle arrived. It looked like it had a hard travel as the box had the one side crushed in. I got the box into the house and fought to get it opened. Once I did, I inspected my tree and everything looked good. I felt the soil and gave it a good watering and then left the tree outside at the bottom of the steps. Our weather had been warmer than normal so I waited 2 days before attempting to plant it. Everything went like clock work. They area I decided to plant my tree was in the back corner of my yard where I had had to have a Austrian Pine cut down this spring. Since I read the Crape Myrtles like acidic soil, what better place? The soil was soft so I didn't have any problem digging a good size hole. I still had some garden soil that I had used for my raised vegetable garden, I used some to put into the bottom of the hole. I was able to get the tree out of the pot without any problem and gently lowered it into the hole, back filling and then gave it a good drink. I was amazed that this tree was at least 5 ft tall when I had ordered the smaller one but I am very happy with my purchase as this was my first one from this company and they didn't disappoint. I may come back next spring and by some other things to plant in that corner since it has looked so empty since cutting down the pine tree. Any suggestions would be welcome. Now I will look forward to spring. Good luck everyone.

It’s blooming and standing up to this southern sun. I am impressed. Yes, shipping was fast and also great packaging. Equally, the tree arrived with lively green foliage and overall strong viability. Impressive tree.
