Vibrant, Hardy Fall Color
Why Flashfire® Maples?
The Flashfire® Maple, often known as the Caddo Sugar Maple, earned its name from the vibrant burnt-orange to red color its leaves turn in the fall. It's famous in Canada and New England for its remarkable red color, with attractive green foliage in spring and summer.
You'll love this tree not only for its vivid color, but also for its hardiness and disease resistance. The Flashfire® Maple can withstand temperatures as cold as -30° F, while also thriving in the consistent warmth of the southern United States. It's more resistant to mildew and disease than many other trees, and it doesn’t mind low humidity or intense sunlight.
It has a naturally neat, oval shape, and its five-foot canopy clearance provides year-round visibility. It's an attractive shade, border, or accent tree, with one of the most spectacular fall showings of any Maple.
Want to make an autumn statement in your landscape? The Flashfire® Maple is the perfect choice.

Awesome Tree in Perfect condition when received!
Bought the Flashfire Maple and planted in my front courtyard along my front door cobblestone walkway. The tree came quickly and was in great shape, trunk green and healthy. Since I planted in late fall, can't wait to see it in Spring where I am in Illinois and people will see it as they walk up to the front door of our historic home. The entire process was smooth and awesome, and care and planting instructions on the website were great!
Pretty color
Fantastic! Shipping and packaging was neat and no broken limbs
Grafted and Headed Back
You should know before buying this that Fast Growing Trees prunes off the Flashfire's central leader (heading back). This is not best practice (per OK State Extension) and can harm the shape of the tree. Also, it's grafted, not on Caddo maple rootstock. I was unhappy with the tree I received (which also had very few roots and a curved trunk). The customer service and plant expert department at Fast Growing Trees is excellent. They answered many questions and shipped me a replacement tree. But Tree #2 was also grafted and headed back. I ended up keeping tree #1 because its secondary leader was the most upright. It did root well, and with staking, I am fixing the curvy trunk. Time will tell if the non-Caddo rootstock reduces its special drought and heat tolerance. It's a bummer that the straight central leader was lopped off, though. I would not have bought this had I known.
