Sunlight

Emerald Green Thujas grow best in full sun (6-8 hours of direct sunlight per day), but they can withstand partial shade (afternoon sun is best in this case).

Watering

Water your new tree 1-2 times per week for the first month, then once a week. Water more frequently if it is dry and hot. Water your tree by placing a water hose at its base for 20 seconds. Emerald Green Thujas will establish after 6 months and regular rainfall will provide sufficient watering.

Fertilizing

Use a general evergreen and shrub fertilizer in the Spring to support the growth of your tree.

Repeat customer, very pleased again

This is my second purchase with Fast Growing Trees. So please with my first purchase. This bought 32 of the emerald green 1-2 ft. They came in pots nicely secured with heavy plastic bags to prevent spilling. The soil was moist. Plants show no signs of shock. All of them are close to 2 ft in height. So excited to get these in the ground as soon as the weather permits.

Great trees, Great company

We wanted our trees delivered within a certain timeframe and I chatted online with Brooke and she was very accommodating. The next day, we discovered a problem with the order (my fault) and I was in a panic. I chatted with Martin (sorry - not sure of that name) was very understanding. He fixed the issue and all was well. Plants arrived promptly and looked beautiful right out of the box. They are planted per instructions and look great! We can’t wait to see them grow. Not good for yards with male dogs

Just a note about this particular shrub. DO NOT plant these if you have male dogs, unless you have a way to prevent them from going near the shrubs. The urine will turn the leaves black and the shrubs will die.

Good trees but I found better at Lowes

I looked for emerald green arborvitae for over a year and ultimately settled on FGT. Then a few weeks ago I saw that Lowe's was carrying them online, but not in stores. In any case, I ordered 5 of them and was pleasantly surprised at how good they are but since they were about 6" shorter than the test plants I bought the trees from here even though they were about $5 more than Lowe's. Then last week I walked into my local Lowe's only to find they were selling them in store for only $35, a full $10 cheaper than here and they were much fuller as they were in a much larger pot. Then I discovered that they had them in three sizes, 15 gallon for $80, 3 gallon for $35, and one gallon for $15. Anyway, it pays to check out Lowe's if you're shopping for these.
