Great fig tree for USDA zone 8
Planted in February 2024 from 1 gallon pot into soil3 vegetable garden compost, mulched with mini pine bark chunks. Chickens did the pest control and fertilizer application for me. Fruit first year: October 30 2024 in USDA zone 8 with a very dry summer. Rapid, healthy growth in mostly clay soil. Thrived on 6 hours of direct sunlight during the summer. Required minimal irrigation after roots established. The fruit was delicious. The chickens jumped to eat to ripe fruit within reach.
