Planting & Care

1. Planting: First, select an area with well-drained soil and full to partial sun (4 to 8 hours of sunlight per day). When you're ready to plant, dig a hole that's twice the width of your plant's root ball and just as deep. Then, place your shrub, backfill the soil and water to settle the roots. Finally, mulch the surrounding soil to conserve moisture.

2. Watering: Water your Althea Shrub once or twice weekly in order to conserve soil moisture. If you're not sure when to water your shrub, check the soil with your index finger, about 3 inches down. If the soil is dry here, it's time to water.

3. Fertilizing: Fertilize before new growth begins in the spring with a well-balanced blend, such as 10-10-10.

4. Pruning: Prune your Rose of Sharon in the winter, after flowering, in order to shape your shrub.

Arden Rose of Sharon

The Roses of Sharon arrived with only a few leaves left on it - I was expecting more leaves for early Mov. Otherwise it looks like it is well shaped and look great assuming it comes back next spring.

Fast Growing Trees Plant ExpertWe're so sorry for your concerns! This particular tree does go dormant this time of year so what you're seeing is normal but you'll also see lots of beautiful new growth come Spring!

Love it!

I was skeptical at first if the price was worth it…if you’re looking for a specific shrub, this is worth it, most definitely! The shipment was so fast, I was shocked how quickly it came and well boxed. I planted it within a few days, then this is my shrub now! I planted it in maybe May, and it has definitely grown. It did not have half the leaves it does now, but I watered it daily for awhile and still water every now and then (bc I love watering my plants, it’s my morning therapy 😂). So being only July, I’m shocked it has a bloom on the first year and can see many buds forming 😊😊 also, the spot it’s planted in is partial shade, mostly just late afternoon and evening sun. The soil I just put in when planted- top soil mixed with manure (if this had anything to do with it idk)

My Rose of Sharon flowers don’t look like the picture

My Rose of Sharon bush arrived and looked very healthy! We got it planted and have been watering faithfully. It still looks good but the flowers don’t look nearly as nice as those in the picture of the bush. I’m hoping that maybe it’s because it is still very young/new and we didn’t have a good rainy Spring? Fingers crossed that it continues to grow well and flowers look better next time it blooms.

Georgius Plant

Received beautiful, in bloom shrub, and so impressed with it's beauty and size. Can hardly wait for it to get full size and full of blooms. As usual, a very beautiful tree from Fast Growing Trees, whom I whole heartedly recommend to anyone needing to purchase great trees.
