An Abundance of Large, Vibrant Flowers
The Drummond's Pink Creeping Phlox stands out with the largest flowers among creeping phlox varieties, offering an abundance of lovely pink blooms. As a native groundcover, it enhances your landscape beautifully, and it's hard to find a more charming groundcover!
In spring, this phlox is covered with deep pink flowers, creating a breathtaking display. Its evergreen foliage is lush and rich green, adorned with small, slender leaves. Although it only grows to about 6 inches in height, it spreads up to 2 feet wide. This perennial is robust and easy to maintain, gracefully spreading through your garden with minimal effort.
Creeping Phlox flourish in full sunlight and prefer moist, well-drained soil, but they also adapt well to rocky and sandy conditions. Once established, they are drought-resistant. For optimal growth, use fertilizer at planting time and again in the spring. While deadheading is optional, it can boost blooming and prolong the bloom period. Phlox are also resistant to deer and tolerant of salt, pollution, and erosion.
For the most stunning pink blooms among phlox, Drummond's Pink Phlox is our top recommendation. Order yours today!
Planting & Care
1. Planting: Spring and fall are ideal times to plant your Phlox. In cooler zones, summer is a great time to plant, as well. Find a spot with well-drained soil and full sun (6 to 8 hours of sunlight per day). Some subtle afternoon shade may be ideal in hot climates.
Plant your Phlox in a hole twice as wide but just as deep as the root ball. Water immediately to establish roots. Add 2-3 inches of mulch to prevent weeds and protect your plant's roots in extreme temperatures.
If you're planting in a container, select a pot that's about twice the size of your plant's shipped container, and use organic soil. Place your plant's root ball, water to settle its roots, and find a sunny spot on your porch or patio to place your container.
2. Watering: Water weekly, or check the surrounding soil. When the soil is dry about 3 inches down, it's time to water your Phlox. Once established, Phlox are drought tolerant.
3. Fertilizing: Fertilize with our slow release fertilizer when planting and in spring for best results.
