How to Grow Lemon Trees at Home
From delicious desserts to seasonings in savory meals and beyond, there's nothing like having home-grown lemons, fresh from your own garden. And thankfully, Lemon Trees couldn't be easier to grow!
Planting directions will depend on the lemon variety you choose, but all Lemon Trees must be grown in the proper growing zones to start (or indoors, if you live in a cooler area). The most important factors will be proper sunlight and watering for your Lemon Tree.
For your Lemon Tree, select an area with well-drained soil or choose a container large enough to accommodate the tree’s root ball, place your tree, and backfill the soil. Lastly, water the surrounding soil to settle your tree’s roots and mulch to conserve moisture.
How to Plant Lemon Trees
First, plant your Lemon Trees in early spring if they're staying outside. However, you can plant your Lemon Trees in pots to stay on the porch or move indoors nearly any time of year. And we do recommend container growing unless you live in a warm, humid area with steady temperatures throughout the year, like Southern Florida or California.
